Bodega del Tasca

Bodega del Tasca is a very friendly, no frills venue. Here you can taste some of the great Spanish tapas, or knock back a glass of wine, sangria or a beer.

It’s next to the more famous Tasca restaurant, at the end of Porta Ticinese owned by the Breton born Erwan Maze. From the outside it seems like a classic little room, with little space and a central sharing table. Nothing more. But still I managed to get in here at 7pm and hadn’t left until midnight.

The principle of Tasca is sharing. On certain days of the week the place is open for breakfast. The place is intended to be a stop over before dinner, or somewhere to go straight after dinner for a digestif.

The central table offers a great opportunity to meet people and also to share some appetizers. Until recently there was a camera hanging in the middle of the room by a wire. Anyone who wanted to take photos could see them later posted to the official Facebook page.

It’s a living space where you can meet all kinds of people from different backgrounds – young designers, stylists, musicians (who are bankers by day), university students and mums with strollers.

Undoubtedly the environment is friendly. In the evening before the restaurant opens, there are people smoking out the front with a glass in hand.

But what will you be eating? There are Spanish tapas of all kinds, tortillas, pan tomatoes, albondigas, mini hamburgers, jamon serrano, and manchego.
