I know, I usually never write about beauty. But I am a woman and like all of us, every now and then, I yield to the temptation to pamper myself, trying to correct the excesses that my work inevitably entails. And although I’m not an expert on beauty, I immediately recognize beautiful things, the right spots and the best people.

came to Bahama Mama on a beautiful, sunny and lukewarm winter day. Milan had just woken up (so did I), and after the umpteenth sleepless night enduring my son Giacomo’s kicks in bed, I couldn’t desire anything else than to get pampered. Just to feel good. To love me a little more than usual. Bahama Mama: exotic but sweet name, evocative and melodic at the same time. Impossible to forget.

When I enter the place, full of hopes because I didn’t have an appointment, I immediately understand that I’m in professionals‘ hands. From the first look, with kindness, smiles and enthusiasm they welcome me in their house. The first impression is the one that counts? Behold, because here it was wonderful! I walk in what at first glance seems to be a little shop of beautiful vintage clothing, with a gorgeous bar counter on the left. I start reading the tea names on the blackboard, herbal teas, infusions … for a moment I get to think that I’ve ended up in the wrong place. But no! Bahama Mama – I realize – is also this: a sought-after vintage shop with a bar, as well as Nails&Body Spa. A small and cosy living room, furnished with designer pieces. Chic and absolutely “easy to live”.

All the cosmetic products are strictly green, made by pharmaceutical laboratories respecting the environment. Here you can come alone or you may organize groups with your girlfriends to get a manicure Spa watching a movie on TV while drinking a tea or even for a body treatment. Or to do some shopping and enjoy an aperitivo with Tuscan products. Yes because the owner, Gaia Venuti – born in Florence – is a fashion lover who likes to collect vintage clothing: on Wednesday and Thursday she has decided to remain open until 23, to give customers the opportunity to enjoy the evening while relaxing with wine and appetizers.

This is a place of joy: for both soul and body. Gaia has such an amazing energy, and she was right in grasping that Milan was missing a place where body and soul could be treated at the same time, with quality and through a constant research of what’s absolutely the best! Bahama Mama is a “Flawless place” which cannot be missed. Fashion, vintage and beauty addicted … Bring your lover/husband/boyfriend to show him what could be the next Valentine’s Day gift!
