Casa el Carnicero
A contemporary aesthetic that honours the historic setting, a welcoming atmosphere and a menu tailored both to regulars and those seeking modern touches, creating a dining spot that leaves a lasting impression
Viale Bianca Maria is one of Milan’s most elegant boulevards, lined with early 20th-century Art Nouveau palazzi and leafy trees that blossom together in spring. For the past few months, if you look up at number 8, you will also spot… a cinema. Well, not quite a cinema, but a giant screen projected onto an exterior wall, playing loops of cult film scenes. It is just the first of many striking touches at Casa El Carnicero, the latest dining venture from Gruppo El Carnicero. As the brand’s third opening in Milan (and fourth including Ibiza), famous for prime cuts and a spirited, fashionable vibe, Casa El Carnicero introduces a few twists to the format. The first novelty greets guests right at the door: a counter showcasing not only meat, but fresh seafood too. To cater to every palate and combine quality beef with modern finesse, the menu now features seafood platters, oysters, shellfish and caviar. Before diving into the dishes, though, the interior itself deserves a closer look.

Casa El Carnicero spans four floors, plus a cellar with a private dining room and a terrace that will delight guests in the summer months (complete with the giant screen mentioned earlier). Each dining room has its own personality, unified by vibrant wall colours, distressed brickwork, floors reminiscent of vintage cement tiles and sparkling chandeliers. All this is effortlessly blended with modern design pieces and architectural lighting, clean lines, neon signs and premium materials. The result is a sharp, contemporary look that still feels timeless. The atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming, making the restaurant ideal for informal catch-ups, romantic dinners or special celebrations, accompanied by a well-chosen soundtrack that sets the mood without ever being intrusive.

As for the menu, meat lovers will find all the signature cuts of the classic El Carnicero format, alongside gourmet variations such as the surprising Toast “El Carnicero”, served with beef tartare, foie gras and caviar. Standout dishes include the Lomo argentino and its US counterpart, the juicy, flavourful Entraña, or for those going all out, the Australian Black Angus Tomahawk, with plenty of options to suit every preference.

On the Mediterranean side, in addition to the seafood platters, there are seafood pasta dishes, ceviche, scallops, premium tuna fillet and charcoal-grilled lobster or spiny lobster. If you still have room, finish your meal with a Panqueque Dulce de Leche—a crêpe filled with dulce de leche—or opt for freshly churned ice cream.

The wine list is sophisticated yet versatile, featuring a curated selection of labels from top local and international wineries and, of course, a generous choice of Malbec.
