Finally, the day has come when we can all relax a little bit. Christmas has come and gone, New Years has passed as by, but this week we had to deal with Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re in a relationship or single, we all felt a bit under pressure. For those who have had to deal with managing multiple obligations, or hysterical girlfriends, Friday has been a long time coming.
Well, after all of this, the weekend is here, and it’s the perfect time to chill without overthinking things.
Friday 17 February
Rollover: The guests of honor this week are Boot & Tax. For those not yet familiar with the duo, they make immersive music using analog synth and experimental sounds. Boot & Tax are the very Italian Christian Croce and Claudio Brioschi, DJ/producers well known on the Italian electronic scene.
Plastic: Joey Anderson is a myth. A DJ from New Jersey, who is part of the label Dekmantel that won over audiences with techno percussion grooves mixed with soul, has a sound you can only describe as cosmic. Not to be missed.
Wall: For lovers of Italian House, uncle Ralf is a great choice. Breaking out on the scene since the 1980s, at Cocoricò di Riccione, he has stayed on as resident DJ since. You don’t need to be a fan of the genre to enjoy his sets.
Volt: Pass an entire evening with Virginia in what promises to be unforgettable experience. Her first album was only released in 2016 and combines dreamy notes with house and R&B, but she has been on the scene since the 90s.
Dude Club: For lovers of techno, Dude Club is a must. Onur Ozer goes back to back with Binh. The duo call themselves, Intreatment and promise to put on a night of minimalist techno.
Secret Place: Inciso is a platform created in 2016, and consists of music curators, DJs and producers primarily based in Milan, but also from other parts of Italy and Europe. This new Milanese institution is guaranteeing quality music evenings. Tonight will give us 8 hours of non-stop music with 8 different DJs: DJ Mexico, DUal U, Frederic Papa, INes, Luca Ka, DJ Krame, Sebastian, Zagor and Zauner. The place is secret, but for an invite send an email to [email protected] and you will be told the address a few hours before the start of the party.
Saturday 18 February
Masada: Just like any other Saturday, the Masada Lounge is the perfect place to start the evening, chilling on the sofas with soft lighting and great music. Blind Observatory will help immerse you in a dream. Techno from this Berlin artist is so fascinating and hypnotic you will feel suspended in space.
Club Contatto: This club is relatively new, having reopened a few months ago after being closed for two years. What makes Contatto special though is not the place but the evenings featuring DO.G.S. Organized once a month, these evenings can be considered amongst the best on Milan’s scene. If you’re a lover of underground Berlin style, this is the place. This week, the guest will be Doc Sleep, an acid techno ballerina that does not stop for even one second.
Wall: Thank god the boys from Wall are here to invite the likes of Dan Ghenacia. Highly recommended for lovers of Funk House, deep sounds with a dash of techno. Ghenacia is a regular guest of the DC-10, this French DJ is part of the trio Apollonia and is one of France’s biggest names on the underground scene.
