Sunday June 19th: fashion shows guide

Fashion shows, presentations and trends: everything you need to know about Milan Fashion Week SS17.

You are still in Morpheus’ embrace, dreaming of that girl/guy whom you danced with all night, and right at the moment you’ve been waiting for…the alarm clock goes off, abruptly, annoyingly unexpectedly. Day 3 of MFW, jump in the shower and think of a stylish look, but comfortable at the same time. You are running today, the day is going to be intense: fashion shows, presentations, and a surprise ending.

Fast breakfast at Bastianello, cappuccino ad cream filled brioche. You are on the right path for the first appointment at 10.30AM: Boglioli, first time at MFW, will amaze you with their famous garment-dyed deconstructed jackets, that the Italian Dandies love so much. Right after that there’s John Richmond at 11.30AM: you are in the Quadrilatero della Moda, in Via San Primo, where the British heritage brand known for its rock essence, vintage influences, and luxury details, will get you straight to the heart of the day. Great curiosity for the Salvatore Ferragamo runway show as well, for the first time without the historical designer Massimiliano Giornetti, who left the Florence maison this year. The location will be the usual Piazza Affari, at Palazzo Mezzanotte.

After the lunch break, the afternoon’s programme is definitely full: starting with the emerging Italian duo Sunnei, followed by the unconventional and never predictable Vivienne Westwood.

Move to Via Fogazzaro 36 at 6.00PM: it may be the most important moment of Milan Fashion Week, definitely the most awaited fashion show, as you will notice by the amount of journalists, photographers, buyers, and influencers attending. We are talking about Prada and the revolutionary Miuccia Prada, the woman who has the power to break every cliché and who dictates the rules at 360 degrees, be it fashion or design.

At 7.00PM the event moves to the Tortona area, behind the Navigli. It’s time for Moncler Gamme bleu: the winter show gave us a lot to talk about, Thom Browne presented the military camouflage theme and all the models had their faces covered with a balaklava. Who knows what the American stylist will show us this year.

At the end of the evening we have the Argentinean Marcelo Burlon’s fashion show, who was reconfirmed for the third time to be in the official programme of Milan Fashion Week. Those who know Marcelo know very well that the show will just be the beginning of another crazy night, and this time the soundtrack will be his…
