Tibi Bistrot Provençal

Provence in Milan

Tibi looks just like that little place that, when you see it for the first time, you can’t quite figure out with its short name, that sounds like an acronym, and its apparently ordinary appearance. But you just have to step in to discover a delicious Provencal bistrot and a cocktail bar that surely doesn’t joke around, already popular with the nocturne creatures hanging in the neighborhoods between Brera and Moscova at sunset. During summer it is usual to find the street outside crowded with people holding glasses and enjoying a corner of the city still preserved from mass tourism and ephemeral trends.

Tibi Bistrot Provençal

The place is really small, with mignon tables and suffused lights. After all, you come here to have a nice drink. Their Gin Tonic is somewhat a legend in the area, everyone has tried it and adored it. Gin is their specialty: it alone is represented by two hundred and twenty labels. There’s a lot of buzz about their variation of Moscow Mule: it’s called African Mule and is made with White Neilly gin, cardamom bitter, lime, ginger beer and a homemade sage syrup.

Tibi Bistrot Provençal

The great feature of Tibi. after all this, is the food and drink proposal from beyond the Alps. French charme rules undisputed: from the menu, made of few simple and well executed dishes that (sounds strange but it is a fact) it’s hard to find in town like sweet or salty crêpes, quiches, the croque monsieur, foie gras and the famous onion soup. Some of these meals are available during happy hour, brought to your table on slate platters as amuse-bouches. And what’s more, you can find some interesting “off-menu” proposals that change daily just like the dessert du jour.

The wine list is full of French labels, to stay in theme and offer a choice wider than the one that you can find in Italian places. A total of twenty-five labels, with both red and white wines, sparkling wines and champagne. If you couple them well with the food, you will be in for something incredible: Club Sandwinch Saumon and rosé, Nicoise Salad and a glass of red. Ask the staff, they’ll give precious advice.

Tibi Bistrot Provençal

In conclusion, Tibi feels a little like a home: you could stay there and chat in a quiet corner for hours without minding at all what is happening around you. Go there for a prolonged drink and not just a quick happy hour: it’s a place where you can disconnect, dive into the bohémienne atmosphere and lose the sense of time among chats, cheeses and excellent drinks.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.
