Vanilla Bakery

As soon as you cross the entrance of this fairy world, pulling the lollipop handle, you find yourself in a “girly” American bakery, where nothing is left out of sight. Vanilla Bakery, in Via San Siro 2 (the Fiera-Buonarroti area), is the right spot for those looking for a quiet place for a pause involving gossip and cupcakes among girlfriends, accompanied by a cup of tea, a milkshake or an American coffee.

Pink and pastel colors are the common denominator of the space, along with countless cute little details, strictly shabby chic, contribute to that fairy tale atmosphere that immediately opens us up to our inner-child desires.

The idea of opening a bakery that is starred and striped, as reflected in the furnishings – very feminine – was born from the creative genius of Cristina Bernascone Raffoul who, passionate about American cuisine, has decided to bring the experience and the recipes learned in various courses, including those attended in the States, to Milan. The great thing about it is that the passion for American cuisine at Vanilla Bakery is shared with the customer and made available to everyone: it’s possible to attend cooking and decor courses open for adults and children all year round.

After having satisfied the eye admiring the space, we get to the most interesting part, the menu: as in every bakery of a certain level, it ranges from sweet to salty, and the choice is wide! Delicious American desserts, cakes, and colorful cupcakes are well-presented and ready to delight anyone brave enough to enter this Sugarland.

Another highlight is the weekend brunch, not only for our love for taking photos to post on Instagram – let’s face it! – but also for the perfect opportunity to try all of the typical American dishes: pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, bagels, not to mention eggs in all their variety (omelets, scrambled or benedict, there are different tastes in different combinations). No need to worry if you stare at the menu for ten minutes straight hoping for a divine inspiration!
