Casa Mia – Cocktail Bar & Bistrot

The perfect place to discover the authentic pleasure of drinking

Milan has many cocktail bars and it’s a real pleasure to explore them all. Some keep up with our expectations, some don’t. Then there’s a third category of bars that surprise us over time. One member of this last segment is indeed Casa Mia – Cocktail Bar & Bistrot, animating the nights of Porta Venezia with its comfortable settings and refined drink list since five years.

Their focus is the constant search of products of excellent quality and their original combinations thanks to experienced bartenders behind the counter. The cocktail list is wide and can satisfy all types of drinkers: from an inexperienced first comer to the most exigent spirit expert.

The design of the interiors and a welcoming atmosphere (the benvenuto is frequently done by the hosts, Luigi Ferrario and Anahita Tokhmehchi) make Casa Mia a lounge bar where you can enjoy the real pleasure of drinking. As you sit down, you would not suspect the treasure stored on the shelves behind the bar: over two hundred whisky, including Single Malt and Blended Scotch. A growing collection that, starting from an initial core of Scottish and Irish labels, has been expanded to include American Bourbons as well as Japanese and Indian Whisky.

The drink list is a real treat: it changes every six months in a continuous research and experimentation with unique proposals and a spark of surprise. Next to the seasonal drink list you will find a selection of cocktails renewed weekly and a different distillate as protagonist.

The section “From the world to our house” closes the menu, cocktails whose recipes come from international bars counted in the world’s top 50. Drinks chosen together with Shane Eaton, an expect of the topic when not busy creating super quantum computers based on diamonds. Shane in fact attends the best cocktail bars of the planisphere (including Milan) to report news on it and feed a fruitful exchange of cocktails and mixologist recipes. Some examples? The “The Horse With No Name”, signed by Joe Alessandroni of 28 Hong Kong Street in Singapore; the “Cinder and Smoke” by Jeff Savage of the Proof YYC in Calgary, Canada; or the “Champagne Piña Colada” by Chris Moore of the London Coupette. The list still goes on, but we invite to discover more in person.

The latest news from Casa Mia is the female new entry behind the counter: Luana Bosello, winner of the third edition of the Campari Barman of the Year 2016 competition. One of the few barladies in the city able to amaze you with her competence. An advice? Ask her “A lucky Roman Americano”, she will surprise you with a cocktail she is very fond of.

But at Casa Mia you can also eat until late at night thanks to the aperitifs that accompany the drinks and to the delicious dishes coming out of the kitchen. Our favorites are the smoked goose breast with red onion compote, Greek yogurt and walnuts and the Irish Angus carpaccio with burrata stracciatella, green apple and celery julienne. Whatever you choose, your aperitif will be far from being boring.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.

Bombarded daily by information of all kinds, transmitted by an ever-increasing number of communication tools, we sometimes look for a simplification, a reliable source, a guide. Flawless Milano was born from this need, and tells the best experiences to have in Milan with style, precision and personality.
