Mosso Milano
A multifaceted space for pizza, coffee or an aperitivo, with a large open courtyard and event rooms, founded to champion social inclusion

mosso (strictly spelt in lower case) is a multifaceted social project committed to creating opportunities and fostering inclusion in Via Padova, a densely populated, multi-ethnic and often complex neighbourhood. Set within the former boarding school of Parco Trotter, it spans 3,000 sq m across two floors, housing a bar, a restaurant and pizzeria, a vocational training centre, rooms for events and concerts, a workshop, a vegetable garden and a large outdoor courtyard.

And if it is true that food fosters inclusion and community, here at mosso the kitchen offers training and employment to disadvantaged individuals. By turning quality produce into flavourful dishes, it tells the stories of the people behind the stove. The seasonal menu, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, is designed to reduce waste, connect local producers and champion short supply chains. It features dishes from regional traditions across Italy: from riso giallo to scialatielli, from millefoglie di pane carasau to involtini di verza, right through to anatra confit.

The pizza is made with organic flour and temperature-controlled sourdough, with around 10 seasonal options on offer. The space was designed around the same spirit of inclusion: an open kitchen with a visible oven, plenty of colourful tables in wood and iron, teal banquettes and 1960s-inspired gold wallpaper.
The bar is the spot for a coffee, an afternoon snack or an aperitivo, but it also acts as a neighbourhood concierge, a place to connect and find information on local services and community initiatives. In summer, you can eat and drink outdoors in the spacious courtyard, under a canopy of fairy lights in a cool, informal atmosphere.

At mosso, there is always something going on: whether it is a concert, a DJ set, a book presentation, a workshop, a flea market, a festival or a private event. Everything revolves around recycling, sustainability and community outreach, helping shape a fairer city and a more cohesive, supportive local community.
