The lunch break is a strange moment of the day. After a good work’s morning the only thing that one could wish is the satisfaction of a light, fast lunch but, let’s be honest, we need to treat ourselves too and going back to work after satisfying our palates. Inside the Manin Restaurant, which is the restaurant of one of the oldest established hotels in Milan, all this is possible and in a main hall decorated with elegant boiseries and modular walls that allow to constantly change the ambients’ layout.
Manin Restaurant’s menu is full of notable dishes, perfect for work lunches or dinners, meetings and even for nice dates à deux. All the à la carte ordinations bring the signature of chef Davide Cesati. The à la carte dishes really are delicacies: you go from the red tuna rolls with Tropea onion jam for the starters (but the sliced avocado with shrimps in Aurora sauce doesn’t joke around either), to the home-made ravioli filled with braised meat, with mushroom sauce and sage among the many first courses.
As second courses we have a smaller and more traditional selection. In the fish section is the grilled sliced sword-fish with baked tomatoes that stands out, very good, while in the meat section there’s the all-time classic veal ossobuco with Milanese risotto. The dessert options are simple yet very refined: among them the crêpes with pineapple au gratin, the chef’s tart with seasonal fruits and the chocolate and pears mousse.
There’s more. If you don’t feel like to order from chef Cesati’s carte, you always have the proposals of Insalateria: a catering concept that wants to speed and light up your lunch offering a wide choice of meals the best of which is the possibility to compose your own salads from a buffet of various, local and fresh ingredients.
Insalateria’s proposal inside of Manin Restaurant goes on with a selection of meals right for every taste, palate and dietary exigency. Besides soups and salads, the menu proposes a series of dishes inspired to Easter cuisine cooked in a wok, an always new “baguette of the day”, classic Chianina, chicken or salmon hamburgers with the possibility of a vegan option with a soy hamburger; but also pastas, pizzas and sweets. And everything at absolutely democratic prices.
In the restaurant’s green corner you won’t find only vegetables but soups, creams and seasonal fruit. There’s also an health corner in the garden: a small table with already cut fruit for your fruit salad, fresh and light pies and aromatized digestive water. There’s also a take away service that will pack up your lunch for you in sleek confections for you to bring anywhere you like.
Well, Hotel Manin‘s restaurant wants to open its doors to Milan, offering that quality that always was its signature and, at the same time, showing care to the exigencies of all of its potential customers, while respecting the environment, your personal health and selfcare and, above all, respecting the excellency that the Hotel has represented for more than a hundred years.
