Merry Go Round

A refined, Italian and, above all, unique style

«What a nice sweater! My sister has one too!». «That is a Zara skirt, isn’t it?». Those are words that we hear almost every day. Words we don’t even mind anymore as used as we are to last minute shopping. We don’t linger nor reflect anymore, we don’t take time to observe the quality of a garment, to know it and appreciate it. We don’t fall in love anymore. In a world where retail is so fast, it’s beautiful knowing that there are dissident voices, that there are places where shopping is still a pleasure, where times doesn’t run but slows down, almost stopping. That’s what happens in both of the Merry Go Round stores: the very central one in Via Larga and the other in Corso Colombo, in the Porta Genova area.

Merry Go Round - Milano

Each time you walk the door of one of these stores, you feel like children in a luna park, surrounded by wonderful clothes, shoes and accessories, to the point that it’s difficult, at first, to pinpoint something we like: we can only look around us, bedazzled.

The selection is personally curated by Cristina, owner of both stores, who, after working as a stylist, she took the brave decision to enter the competitive world of Milanese boutiques. Her success is very well deserved: she distinguished herself from her competitors through an original, never dull inventory that meets everyone’s tastes, from rock-lovers to romantics, going from tulles and lace to leather, from varied to solid colors.

Merry Go Round - Milano

Shopping here is an affordable luxury. Because even those girls who just want to treat themselves can afford to buy something at Merry Go Round. The brands are mostly Italian ones, preferably young and indipendent. Reverse’s garments, Francesco Milano’s shoes, Antonello Serio’s original and chic jewelry, just to say a few names. One of the best ones is Vicolo, a brand born in 1968 as a knitwear producer, that now has a decisely sleek, characteristic total look offer.

To quote Madame Chanel: «Fashion goes, style stays». Words that many people use without understanding them, but that also well express the essence of what our style and wardrobe should represent: ourselves, beyond seasons, beyond trends, beyond fashion. You will see that in Cristina’s boutiques: her always smiling shop assistant will help you express yourself through your tastes, in a fresh and unique way. And nobody will tell you «Nice dress, I have that too!» anymore.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.
