Pasticceria Gattullo
Historic and sophisticated bakery nearby Bocconi University
When I was in college Gattullo bakery stood out as the most sophisticated café in the area.
As a freshmen, I remember standing there with other shy students admiring the windows of this classy, historic patisserie. The bolder ones would even push through and enter to order a snack.
After mid-terms or during grad season at the nearby Bocconi, you can see groups of students toasting to a brilliant future.
Gattullo is first and foremost well-known for its inviting atmosphere. The come and go of people and regulars who know each other by name and chit chat with the staff gives you the feeling of being somewhere familiar and homey.
Being that I don’t live in the area anymore, I only go on Sundays for a proper breakfast. I can’t resist the savoury munchies, mini pizzas and the “foresta nera” sandwich. Don’t worry, there’s something for everyone!
Guys, if you’re feeling romantic and want to score points, keep in mind this where you will find the perfect box of chocolates… we may get chubby but we’ll be smiling!
