The first completely gluten-free bistro in Milan

Building on its successful Florentine experienceQuinoa has now opened its doors in the city ​​of Milan, for a completely gluten-free bistro. Here, taste is not sacrificed, as they manage to combine Asian cuisine with typical dishes of Italy, in a perfectly balanced menu.


Quinoa Milano is located in Viale Beatrice D’Este, Bocconi area, and with its large windows it gives a modern touch to the facades of historic buildings. The design of the restaurant is minimal, made extremely welcoming by furnishings such as colored cushions and plants. The concept of variety and color is reflected in the kitchen, which aims to offer a varied and tasty gastronomic experience even for those who are not gluten intolerant.


The dinner menu, edited by Chef Bernacchioni, is based on seasonal ingredients and varies about. For the lunch menu, some dishes of the day accompany a fixed selection of burgers and salads. There are also some menu staples that remain regardless of the season. The Pad Thai served with pak choi, seasonal vegetables, coriander, peanuts, lime and tamari sauce is definitely the most requested. Among the first courses, we also tried the potato gnocchi with pistachio pesto, heart of burrata and dried tomatoes, which was undeniably delicious!


In the appetizers, however, the battered pumpkin flowers with ginger ricotta and mint sauce stand out, in addition to the healthy quinoa salad with crunchy vegetables, Tropea onion and orange. The latter are very varied, ranging from the homage in Milan with the classic veal cutlet (the real one, with the bone!) There is also a series of vegetarian dishes, which are no less tasty. We, for example, tasted the eggplant pancakes with tzatziki sauce and the stirfried tofu and vegetables in sweet and sour sauce with Jasmine Thai rice, all perfectly cooked.


Quinoa’s menu really manages to combine unusual ingredients to create recipes that combine Western and Eastern flavors in an explosion of taste. We would certainly recommend it to gluten intolerant people and vegetarians, who know they can find a great choice of dishes that are absolutely free of contamination. Quinoa is also perfect for those who love healthy cooking, that enhances the preciousness of seasonal ingredients, and for those who love to experiment with new flavors.
