Basara Milano – Corso Italia

An intimate and cosy location for a quality experience

A “sushi pastry shop”, that’s how Basara Milano defines its restaurants. The brand has now become one of the most well known and popular in Milan’s sushi scene, thanks to the fame they acquired with the first restaurant in via Tortona. And it is no doubt thanks to the fame and quality of food they serve that a second restaurant has been opened in corso Italia 6, always faithful to the concept and to all the features of the first one, in particular for what concerns speed and quality.

I was continuously passing this way and peering into the room through the large window that looks out on the street, and one evening I decide to treat myself to a nice dinner after a busy day. The space, designed by the architect Andrea Langhi, who in the recent years has designed some of the most popular venues in Milan (such as G Lounge, Deseo or Tocqueville), it’s very intimate and not particularly large. What I notice straightaway is the combination of wood, the main element in all the furniture, and glass: an environment that respects the canons of modernity and dynamism, with no frills, where the clean lines give a touch of New York style modernity.

Without any doubt what mainly characterises this place is the speed, especially during lunch with the pastry shop concept, which allows workers to have a quick meal without sacrificing quality. They take me to my table, or rather the characteristic counter that faces on Corso Italia. There aren’t many seats, in fact if you want to dine here do not forget to make a reservation! On the other hand, the good news is that you do not run the risk of being in a noisy and crowded environment … that is especially noticeable when you are at the end of a hectic day!

Basara Sushi Pasticceria

The menu created by chef Hiro it’s varied and cared for: his creations are proposed with that touch that characterises all his dishes and which is also found in the first historic restaurant in Tortona. While I taste my salmon nighiri, I become fascinated by being able to eat while I look at the street, I find it extremely relaxing to watch people passing by while return home in the evening!

Not least, the real #sushiaddicted won’t be disappointed … Try the mixed sushi and the tuna and salmon tartare, they are really special! Therefore my advice, if you are looking for a cosy and intimate location for a quick dinner, without giving up the goodness and quality, is to come to Basara Milano in Corso Italia and let all the strains of your day find their due and deserved relief … Fast & Quality is possible!

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.
