The Castello del Nero, is a magnificent place dating back to the 1300 century inhabited by the Del Nero and Torrigiani families until the twentieth century. Surrounded by 300 hectares of private property and easily reachable from Florence, it is only 30 minutes from the Santa Maria Novella railway station, from Siena and San Gimignano.
It is located in the heart of Chianti and has a magnificent view of the Tuscan hills, vineyards, olive groves and two nearby lakes. Following a careful restoration, completed in 2006 thanks to the Superintendency of Artistic Heritage, the Castle is a treasure rich in centenary frescoes, noble coats of arms and enchanting vaulted ceilings bring to life the grandeur of the rich historical past of this region.
In this historical residence there is a hotel and a wellness center with the brand “ESPA”, one of the most prestigious international wellness brand founded by Mrs. Susan Harmsworth in 1993, which has become synonymous with quality and luxury in the world. The latter covers an area of about 1,000 square meters and offers personalized treatments with extra virgin olive oil produced within the property. The hotel has a total of 50 rooms: some of them are deluxe suites with original 18th century frescoes, others have a private terrace but all have a magnificent view.

After regenerating the body you can tease the palate enjoying two opportunities within the location: the gourmet restaurant La Torre awarded with a Michelin star offers refined dishes thanks mainly to vegetables and fresh spices from the organic vegetable garden and the another typical Tuscan restaurant, La Taverna where you can taste traditional dishes both for lunch and dinner.
The main hall of La Torre is located in the ancient stables of the Castle and during the summer you can stop outside in the Garden Terrace perfect for a romantic dinner.The Tuscan Restaurant La Taverna, in summer, moves outside becoming LaTaverna by The Pool in the area just by the pool.
But that’s not all: the Castello del Nero offers the opportunity for its guests to carry out many activities organized in the surroundings: the “Walk of the Marquise” is a romantic route through ancient cypress trees, designed for the Marchesa Del Nero, to allow her to stroll shade to reach the woods from the Castle. Coming out in the early hours of the morning it is possible to meet fallow deer, hares or pheasants.
Another specialty are the “A tutto pasta” cooking classes held by the executive chef of the restaurant to discover the secrets of Tuscan cuisine, and wine tastings.
