The Bistrot Santa Maria Valle is very nice, small and located in one of the side streets of the central area of Carrobbio, a position that makes it intimate and not frantic, even if close to a street frequented international shopping street as is Via Torino.
Finding a place inside is not easy- the counters on the external streets are often sought but there is also space in the mezzanine, which is accessed via a small staircase. And even if you cannot enjoy a view of the kitchen from there, you will surely be able to enjoy the goodness of their dishes.
The quality is very high, every day the culinary offer varies and is not the classic and quick lunch break: they offer octopus skewers, creamed salted cod with crispy polenta and onion jam, risotto with artichokes, smooth pumpkin, hamburger, ribs with baked potatoes, cutlet, carpaccio …
The bistro is not afraid to vary, and any variation is still perfect. Are you in a harry? In addition to recommending a respectable takeaway served in containers specifically for each dish with cutlery and bread, we suggest you to ask for the hot focaccia to stuff. Do not miss the one with mortadella: it’s delicious.
Many of the fresh dishes are homemade, you can feel it even when you go in a hurry to enjoy only a coffee on the go and a small pastry made by them, tempting you from the saucer on which it is placed. The coffee is just as good, as it is not easy to find around.
Try the breakfast, it will convince you to come back. Beyond the classic cap and brioche, do not forget the pasticciotto leccese: they say it’s just the same as what you eat in the South! The courtesy and friendliness of the managers and staff is really appreciated although the freshness and quality of their dishes are already enough!
