The first time I ordered my food at Morso’s I didn’t exhitate: Foodie_MeetupBurger. This not just because a burger dedicated to our Foodies girlfriends is bound to be delicious; the choice of ingredients, once mixed, bring to life a unique creation that has effortlessly secured a place among the top burgers to have in town: Fassona beef-burger, mustard-seasoned brie, bread-crumbs, honey-caramelised onions, and lettuce. Hats off.
But what is this little diner doing in the heart of Brera, a one-off in the Milanese landscape? Let’s start with the raw materials: Fassona beef from Piedmont, artisan bread, organic greens and DOP cheese. Just think of that feeling of satiety after the classic weekend burger-fest. You won’t get it here; instead you’ll have to face a dilemma: shall we ask for an encore or move to the desserts? Puddings don’t fall short of expectations, which leaves me contented and satisfied for having broken (twice) the rule: jam strawberry cheesecake. Light, soft, flavoursome and highly #addictive.
Let’s not forget the owners Fabio and Erika, very young couple in life and at work, they have managed to translate their like-mindedness into the perfect recipe for a menu that is out of the ordinary, perfectly balanced and full of passion. A select few buns featuring refined combinations that create a burst of flavours. As mentioned before, all this takes place in a small venue, big enough for you to eat in at one of the benches, perched on a wooden stool, while take away is also an option if all the seats are taken. The marble is reminiscent of the old-fashioned butcher’s shop, while the wood renders the atmosphere warm and friendly.
And if you never happen to stop by via Montebello at their shop, you can always get your favourite burgers delivered at home or at the desk:
Our suggestions? You should not miss the speciality dish “Morso”: beef-burger, bacon, Tropea onion, raschera DOP cheese, lettuce and tomato; or the more elaborate “Sei”: beef-burger, tomato mayonnaise, grilled aubergines, fontina DOP cheese and tomato. I’ll spare you all the other dishes so as not to spoil you the pleasure of trying them out by yourselves and choosing your favourite… bite after bite!
