Mandarin Oriental, Milan

Where Milanese design meets oriental luxury

Explorers, leaders, emperors: the charm of the East has always greatly attracted the western world. The prestigious group of five-star luxury hotels, Mandarin Oriental, has decided to revive this trend by spreading the typical philosophy of the lands from which it originates. And a city like Milan, always at the forefront in terms of news and trends, could not fail to be part of such an important project.

Mandarin Oriental Milan

The Mandarin Oriental, Milan is in a position of undisputed value. A complex of four adjacent 18th century buildings in the center of the Quadrilatero, from which you can easily reach on foot some of the most symbolic places in the city, such as the Scala, the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Who hasn’t dreamed of sleeping in a suite in the historic center, only a few steps from the Madonnina?

All you have to do is choose one of the 70 rooms and 34 suites spread over the five floors to have a memorable experience in terms of comfort and luxury. The restructuring and reorganization of the spaces are the work of the well-known architectural firm, Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors, who have been able to reinterpret the oriental style in a Milanese key, offering a contemporary and uniform design. But don’t think that the rooms are all the same, on the contrary: to make them unique there is a selection of custom-made furnishings and, especially for the two specialty suites on the noble floors, the inspiration comes from some of the most famous artists of the Italian twentieth century such as Piero Fornasetti and Giò Ponti.

Get ready to live a dream surrounded by the atmosphere typical of Far Eastern countries, all while still in Italy, where good food is synonymous with culture. Also on this front, the Mandarin Oriental, Milan is confirmed as unique given the importance of Seta, the two Michelin star restaurant inside. Antonio Guida – one of the most acclaimed chefs in Italy – creates the gastronomic menus characterized by elaborate dishes, exaltation of fresh ingredients and great technical ability. The restaurant consists of two internal spaces in which the wooden floors and ceilings meet the green walls and furnishings. For the most important occasions, it is possible to reserve the Saletta Duomo, built on a Fornasetti project: an intimate and welcoming corner to guarantee maximum confidentiality.

Elegance and class also characterize the Mandarin Garden which, between the courtyard outside and the lounge area inside – entirely covered in mosaic of two-tone black and white marble – represents a five star experience. Here you can organize your business lunch or enjoy an aperitif in full Milanese style, like real locals. Let yourself be tempted by the delights of the pastry chef, Nicola di Lena. With his pastry, you will get the secret formula to overcome any troubles.

Take a few hours in the Spa to get in touch with the five key elements of the Chinese philosophy of Feng-Shui. Treatments, massages, individual and couple therapies are just some of the experiences you can have here. Sports lovers can test themselves with the cutting-edge machines of the Fitness Center and if you prefer to keep fit in the open air, perhaps exploring the city, remember that from 5 to 9 in the morning at the hotel entrance a jogging station will provide you with water and a towel, demonstrating that the well-being of the clientele is really at the center of the attention for the staff.
