Vinaino Fiorenza

Only authentic flavors

Two locations, one soul. From Vinaino Fiorenza you will taste the genuine soul of Florentine street food. The love for Tuscany, for its territory and its local products is here the true protagonist, present in every detail: from the interior decor to the menu and the typical gourmet products that you can buy to taste, even at home all the smells and flavors of this wonderful land.

The locations, as we said, are two. One at the Cappelle Medicee and one in Piazza della Signoria. That of Piazza della Signora, precisely in Via Vacchereccia, practically in front of Rivoire, is the smallest and also the closest to the concept of street food. This is where we tried a taste of this sample of Tuscan excellences. A small place, full of familiar and characteristic details, which condenses in its space the same spirit of the historic trattorias of the city and the mood of its gastronomic culture.

But exactly what can you eat from Vinaino Fiorenza? Obviously the Florentine schiacciate, a product that over the years, has gone from being a humble and almost “popular” food to a central element of the city street gastronomy. The rest of the offer adheres to this simplicity: platters of meats and cheeses and gastronomic products to be purchased, all bearing the unmistakable style of the Vinaino.

There are many cured meats and cheeses from Tuscany with which to fill your schiacciata. They range from the classic raw ham to the pairing of cooked ham and pecorino, with variations of Caprese, versions with cream of truffles, with porchetta and appearances of more “insider” products of Tuscan gastronomy such as capocollo or sbriciolona with fennel seeds and red wine.

In the cutting boards we find an even greater variety with different seasonings of finocchiona and sbriciolona, the capocollo with aromatic herbs and pecorino cheese, also with different seasonings. There are also vegetarian options for those who do not like meat, a cutting board with truffled pecorino cheese and quail eggs and then the typical dish of crostini with chicken livers, butter and anchovies, sausage and stracchino, perfect to combine with a good glass of red home wine, a Chianti Rufina to try absolutely.

If you want to prolong the pleasure of the experience, you can go to Vinaino as you go from a grocer to buy a limited but really excellent range of gastronomic products such as wild boar ragout, Chianina ragout and porcini mushrooms; and in addition to these you will find the ribollita, the typical beans with sage and garlic and the famous chicken liver pâté to spread on bread.

A small place but perfect logistically and above all equipped with everything that can serve you to savor the authentic, genuine Tuscany even with a quick and simple meal. Everyone sooner or later need a sandwich on the fly, now you know where to find it.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences florence has to offer.
