Chi è Chi Awards 2016

Black Tie: male elegance prized by women

It’s all set for the XVI edition of the annual fashion award which, for 16 years, has in fact heralded (albeit unofficially) the opening of MFW: the “Who’s Who Awards 2016”.

The event, organised by CrisalidePress and supported by Milan’s City Council, will take place on 20 September at 11:00. The chosen venue is the Alessi Hall at Palazzo Marino (accredited guests only!). The title chosen for this glamorous edition is Black Tie: male elegance prized by women. Indeed, the winners will receive their awards from some of the most relevant female testimonials, carefully selected by the publishing company.

Members of the panel of experts are: Benedetta Barzini, Professor of Fashion Culture; Mario Boselli, honorary chairman of the Italian National Fashion Chamber; Francesca Delogu, Editor of Cosmopolitan; Emanuele Farneti, Editor of GQ Italia; Simone Guidarelli, Fashion Editor; Luisa Micaletti, Editor of Posh; Giuseppe Modenese, honorary chairman of the Fashion Chamber; Cristina Morozzi, journalist, design critic and design director of education at Marangoni Institute’s Design School; Silvia Paoli, freelance journalist writing for several women’s magazines, founder and editor of lostinfashion.it; Massimiliano Sortino, Fashion Editor of Vogue.it; and Cristiana Schieppati, editor of the Who’s Who of Fashion and Journalism, who has also organised this event.

The women in the jury will have the enviable task of giving the awards to the most charming and good-looking personalities who are already Fashion Biz icons, but it does not stop there. Just to name a few among our top picks: Alex Del Piero, football star awarded as “most elegant sport personality”; and Pierfrancesco Favino, “best actor and interpreter of the Italian style”, who will be without a doubt a worthy successor of Stefano Accorsi, the outgoing 2015 fashion king.

There will also be special awards for journalists, stylists and press agencies, such as the Fiorucci Prize going to Ferruccio De Bortoli, and the Barbara Vittia Prize for the best press office of 2016.

The Fashion and Design Who’s Who is not just the top yearbook with all the contact details for fashion journalism and design houses; it is also a well established appointment in September, greatly valued by our fellow journalists as a great public relations opportunity (not to mention the excellent catering), and graced by the pleasantness, professionalism and verve of Cristiana Schieppati, the gorgeous editor who over the years has managed to stand out thanks to her simplicity and her character.

Who’s Who: absolutely flawless…
