Not to be missed this weekend #6

The best places for quality music this weekend

Thursday, 24 November

After a week of awful weather, we have one ray of sunshine in the middle of all this rain, dampness and morning fog: Nicolas Jaar. Put on ‘Space is Only Noise’ and the gray of the weekend will seem a colorful dance universe with slow meandering movements.

Thursday marks his long-anticipated return with his new album ‘Sirens’, and marks a more experimental sound for the 26 year old DJ. Nicolas Jaar kick starts this weekend at Alcatraz.

Friday, 25 November

Start your Friday night with some good vibrations at the Santeria Social Club, where you will find Fatima & the Eglo Live Band, a crew formed from the label founded by Alex Nut and Floating Points.

Or chill with friends instead in an intimate atmosphere of lights, paintings and lanterns, playing with giant puppets at Anna Killer Plastic. Follow the entrance to the left marked by all the lights.

Saturday, 26 November

Saturday evening promises to be interesting with the 8208 Lighting Design Festival at the Ex Mercato Coperto di Como closing party. The first edition closes with a free audio-visual event, an evening of projects featuring national and international artists who experiment blending light, visual design and music and reconfiguring our perceptions of space. The line-up includes Byetone, Fountain of Chaos, and Month Club.

At Wall, the Panorama Bar resident, Steffi, will immerse you in an electronic underground environment. Meanwhile, at Osservatorio Astronomico del Dude, find Marc Vogel, a German DJ with a passion for funk.

Theo Parish, the dancer from Detroit Swindle, will star at Block Club. Listen to ‘Boiler Room’ to get in the right mood.

At Masada, the very Italian Brando Lupi with his signature blend of hypnotic techno and deep house will make you appreciate the atmosphere of this local. With large sofas and soft lighting, you seem to be disconnected from all your cares in Milan.
