We did not know what to expect at the opening of the first God Save The Food, in via Tortona, some years ago but it soon conquered us all. Then the location of Piazza del Carmine opened, where, weather permitting, you can eat outside enjoying all the quality of service and the timeless charm of the façade of Santa Maria del Carmine, from which one of the most beautiful squares in the city takes its name, and we loved it without any doubt.
Have you ever woken up at 3:00 pm after a long night spent partying until late thinking, “And now where do I go to eat?” At God save the Food, if you’re hungry, you eat. Nobody will tell you it’s late, as if hunger had schedules. For those who, on Saturday and Sunday, replace brunch (which is held here, punctual as a sacred ritual, every weekend) with the more original “brinner” in the afternoon, God Save the Food is a precious resource.
The menu you will find is simple, impeccable, balanced for any diet you are facing. And we know, you are facing it, whoever you are. Centrifuged, refined salads, quinoa, exotic touches between wok and fajitas with indications on each nutritive peculiarity: “pro” are protein dishes, “veg” vegetarian dishes, “om3” omega 3-rich dishes.
The beauty of this place is that it is concrete and without frills. They don’t try to be interpreters of an abstruse gastronomy concept. They offer solidity and excellent dishes. And even the hardcore food lovers will find dishes designed especially for them. The checks at the cash desk are a symbol of honesty and ethics in the jungle of marauders of the seven palates that fill the city of the Madonnina.
