What does the Trussardi alla Scala restaurant represent? The union of two Milanese icons, two monuments of unquestionable value. On the one hand a historic and very important family of Italian fashion, the Trussardi family. On the other, the Milanese theater par excellence: the Teatro alla Scala (for all, simply, La Scala).
The combination of the two gave the name to what is considered today one of the most chic, gourmet and romantic restaurants in the city. Overlooking the majestic Teatro and the square its namesake square, with the monument to Leonardo da Vinci at its center, the Trussardi alla Scala was opened in 2006 and, as of today, boasts one Michelin star.
The ambiance is sober, elegant and bright. You get there by taking the elevator on the ground floor of the building that houses both the Trussardi store, its showrooms and the Café Trussardi. Large windows surround the entire perimeter of the hall and the best tables are unquestionably those by them, giving the diner a priceless view of the square and the city traffic that flows quickly and (from up here) quietly. Being seated at the table of this restaurant on its black leather armchairs makes you feel in the safest and most comfortable place in the world. Very far away from everything else.
The service is impeccable, polite and discreet. Meanwhile in the kitchen, we have since 2015 Roberto Conti, a talented, young and very prepared chef. Raised in Vigevano in what was once a historic trattoria, the restaurant Da Maria, he took flight here in Milan just next to the first Trussardi chef Andrea Berton (that works today with two other restaurants: one in the city and another at the lake of Como). It took plenty of his hard work, and much time, to make the Trussardi family decide to bring the chef Conti to run the kitchen staff after having managed the coffee on the ground floor.
The menu changes seasonally. And the raw materials are of undisputed quality. Each dish is truly striking. From the amuse-bouche to the pastry that goes with the coffee to close the meal. Among all the dishes we have tasted, the best one was the liquid tortello of parmesan and hazelnuts with black truffle, which gives gasp of joy at every bite. An incredible dish. Balanced and vibrant on the palate. Who knows what wonders Trussardi’s ever-evolving menu has in store for us.In the kitchen of this chef tradition and taste always blend together with innovation perfectly.
Treat yourself to this absolutely flawless experience. You deserve it and, believe us, you won’t regret it.
