Why “Le Meraviglie“? Because this fascinating restaurant and pizzeria, which Andrea Villani and Redi Shijaku, owners of Mani in Pasta Group, opened in 2019, about 4 years after opening their first takeaway pizzeria, seems to hide something magical within its walls. Located at the northern end of Viale Monza, it’s undoubtedly a unique location of its kind: able to accommodate about 230 people, it spans 1000 square meters, interpreted in a modern but warm style that mixes industrial and vintage, with mirrors, exposed bricks, lush plants, red curtains, neon installations, an open kitchen that allows you to watch the chefs at work, and a popular outdoor seating area in the summer months.
In the kitchen, Chef Andrea Buffoni takes the reins of the brigade with the same skill that ensured him a past role at the prestigious Brianzolo restaurant Pomiroeu. The menu at Le Meraviglie features timeless dishes from Italian tradition, those that make us feel “at home” from the first bite: from gnocchi, to ravioli, to Milanese risotto, to veal chop with bone, to the much-loved bigoli “carbonara” with Norcia guanciale, which is dramatically served in a form of Pecorino Romano.
Everything is rigorously homemade, including, last but not least, the tiramisu, another showpiece of Le Meraviglie, served at the table directly in the baking dish and made even more delicious by a pour of chocolate cream, a special (and top-secret) recipe from the chef.
And they are certainly a marvel, for the eyes and especially for the palate, the pizzas signed by Mani in Pasta: digestible and light dough, enhanced by the combination with quality seasonal ingredients, inspired by classic traditional recipes, albeit with some creative flair, such as the delightful vegan pizza or the prosciutto and fig pizza (in season) or the one with Pata Negra.
An atmospheric and convivial location, open for both lunch and dinner, a young and motivated staff, and a menu made of timeless classics interpreted in a young and contemporary way, make Le Meraviglie an ideal location to enjoy with gusto all year round.
