Égalité

A corner of Paris in Porta Venezia

For a former Parisian brought to Milan, the opening (finally!) of a real boulangerie in the streets of Milanese nightlife is not only music for the ears, but also enjoyment for the senses. In the past few months, in fact, among the hidden and fascinating alleyways behind Porta Venezia that are so reminiscent of the Marais, it has inaugurated, already very successfully, Égalité, a 360-degree boulangerie of master baker Thierry Loy.

Égalité - Milano

The success, which translates into a place that is always full from the early hours of the morning until the evening at 9 pm, lies in the diversified and accurate proposal, which allows us to embrace the most disparate and demanding public. If, in fact, the name boulangerie makes you think primarily of the typical Parisian bakery where you can buy fragrant baguettes to carry under your arm, in reality it hides many pleasant surprises, which transform this large but welcoming 200 square meter restaurant into a pastry shop, café and restaurant for tasty lunch breaks, relaxed aperitifs, and shop of fresh and packaged products.

The bread is baked continuously in the beautiful open laboratory, using ancient varieties of wheat and flour from the Minoterie du Trièves, a centenary mill in the French Alps. At the same time, every kind of delicacy is prepared for every moment of the day: from the pain aux raisins, to the buttery and crunchy croissants, the chausson aux pommes and the pain au chocolat for Antonettian breakfasts; the éclairs, tarte tatin and gateau for snacks; croque monsieur and quiche for lunch, ending with a glass of wine accompanied by cheeses (not only from France) for an aperitif.

The place is a riot of form and substance, not only for the specific offer, but also for the reception and furnishing. Already from the outside, the uncaring eye of the passer-by is captured by the six large windows decorated with the typical Parisian boulangerie writing and small tables. Inside is a 1950s bakery design, in addition to the striking zinc counter. The project bears the signature of the well-known Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, already recognized and appreciated for other must-haves in Milan such as Pisacco, Dry, Zazà Ramen and the Berton Restaurant.

Égalité - Milano

What is pleasing and satisfying is the coherence and authenticity of this great restaurant that knows how to surprise and make you happy. Furthermore, Égalité comes to Milan at a time when competition is at an all-time low in the city, threatening to become one of the most popular venues, and not just by Parisians.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.
