Yoshi – Ristorante Giapponese Autentico

The temple of true sushi, good and authentic

Between the grey concrete of a small road and the flashing red LED lights coming from the new skyscrapers’ top, an all white hidden gem that you wouldn’t expect is hiding in the city. Japanese, sushi, and fusion restaurants are everywhere and they’re difficult to distinguish. Yoshi is an exception, a rare, candid and sensitive pearl.

Here the true essence of Japanese tradition is expressed through the search for superlative quality ingredients, used by the chef and owner Yoshinobu Kurio, according to his inspiration, in order to conceive personal, unique and one of a kind creations every single day. This is the proof of its uniqueness, the striking proposals within the daily menu, created on the basis of a careful selection made by Yoshi himself. Every day they guarantee the freshest seafood available. So every time is different from the previous one and everything is different than elsewhere. Everything is new, intriguing, and memorable.

To start dreaming just imagine an off the menu appetiser as their marinated sashimi with seaweed, sea asparagus, avocados, citrus yuzu sauce, rice vinegar jelly and marinated tomatoes. Asking for the house specialty is a certainty! For the unusual maki lovers there’s plenty of choice: the special one with tempura shrimp inside, avocado with slightly spicy mayonnaise sauce on the outside and covered with tuna, salmon, whitefish, yellowtail and red snapper sashimi or the lobster roll which is also wrapped with lobster on the outside. Another treat that you can’t resist is the real sushi, which is surprising for taste and combinations: the turbot nigiri topped with pink Himalaya salt and yuzu (Japanese mandarin) is absolutely sublime.

Eating in this little paradise made of flavours that will carry you away, offers a sensory experience that has to be lived in two or few people. The purity of style, the monochromatic environment, and the almost solemn atmosphere, aim to project customers into a cosy yet substantial dimension. Spaces are limited but well organised, with a first room with classic tables and the second with a visible counter around which you can dine watching the chef at work.

For me this place is the temple of true sushi, good and authentic. I’m sure that if you’ll try it, it will also become yours. To be rediscovered every time.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences milan has to offer.
